Don't spend more than you earn. Don't borrow on tomorrow's earnings, for you know not what may be on the morrow. Live within your means. Whatever those means may be at the moment. Don't expect to live on the same level as those who have been working and saving for years.

Do you wait until the last minute to get things done? Can you only work with a deadline staring you in the face? Is your work better or worse for the dark cloud of the dealine?

Probably, it's a gauge of self-discipline. I imagine the weak of will need the outer imposition of the deadline to get motivated.
