Here's a nice little quote from Lynn Vincent, features editor for WORLD Magazine, with his permission:

This verse appeared today in the right column: PROV 15:33 "The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor." In my experience, sometimes it's not only humility, but humiliation.

truth, so they say. Must be because journalistic writing was compromissed long ago. This from the LA Times, can you believe it?

"Stores were shuttered, and the town's central market was empty, but as the fighting waned, civilians mingled through the column, and one man herded bulls down a side alley as the fight began to wane."

When the detergent smell got too strong, I hied to the Burle Marx (no kin to Karl) City Park with my notebook and Bible and jotted down some ideas, plans, course corrections. The park had been the residence of a turn-of-the-century factory owner. Burle Marx was the grounds designer. Tells you who gets remembered with the honor. Marx was a great paisagista. (How do you say that in English? Landscapist?) So I enjoyed the grounds, the lake, the quiet in the middle of the city, and even the shenanigans of three adolescents on benches down below me.
