Error 404 and Refreshing
randal
15:55h
This below from an error page on http://churchfun.com Here is something weird and kind-a cool Computers call the kind of error that got you to this page "Error 404" When the "Error 404" message comes up, it usually means one of the following: To help you keep you from getting stuck in web pages that don't work, web designers like me will insert some computer code in the web page. You won't usually see this kind of stuff and it doesn't make sense unless you know lots about web sites. But, notice the word in red "Refresh." That word will be the key to the rest of this coincidence. As you can see, the key HTML command for redirecting the page is "REFRESH." With this in mind, check out the definition of word number 404 in the New Testament Greek Lexicon. Word 404 in the New Testament Greek Lexicon: "Refresh" The New Testament was originally written in Greek. When Matthew or Luke or Paul sat down to write the New Testament by inspiration of the Holy Spirit, they wrote in Greek. Today not a lot of people know New Testament Greek. Maybe some ministers and Bible scholars but not regular folks. So there is a book that helps people who don't know Greek. A book called the New Testament Greek Lexicon lists all of the words of the Greek New Testament in alphabetical order and numbers them, so that people who do not know Greek can look up a word and its definition with ease. So word 404 below is merely the four-hundred-and-fourth word of the New Testament, listed alphabetically. (This numbering standard was established by James Strong around 1900 -- long before "Error 404" was an issue.) Note the play on words here and how the word "refresh" is featured. Remember that REFRESH is the primary command in HTML redirect command. Now, quoting from Zodhiates' Complete Word Study Dictionary: New Testament. The antonyms are a commentary on the emotions that come when one reaches an "Error 404" message. When the page you wanted does NOT come up properly you feel: * troubled The "Refresh" command by the web master is designed to redirect the person to another page so that they are not left with that annoying dead-end message. Kind-a cool isn't it? It doesn't really mean anything but it is interesting. ... Link
Poetry as entertainment

http://www.christianparadise.com/directory.html Christian Paradise touts all kinds of entertainment and lists poetry under its directory. Poetry as entertainment? Some of it could be so classified, I suppose. But if one wants to make the whole of poetry a form of entertainment, I beg to differ. ... Link ... Next page
