So is he right? If so, why is he right?

Lots of people need to pay attention to this word by Larry Burkett:

Sometimes Christians seem to believe that God will bless them supernaturally, while they ignore every pretense of good management. If you believe that, you haven't studied God's Word very thoroughly. God's Word directs us to think and plan.

I tried not to look at who the author of this bad sentence was.

"Wives need consistent proof of change over a period of time in at least three areas before they will believe their husband's commitment: careful listening without justification or argument, quickness to admit error, and patience with her doubts."

A key word above is "consistent." She needs to know the change is for real and not just an act. There's no way to prioritize the three areas mentioned. They're all necessary, of the same sprout, which is focus on her and her needs and not your ego.

I think they got it right, but isn't it a tall order, a grand mission? I read this today on a church bulletin:

The Ulysses Church exists to reach the lost, to continue to grow as a family of God, to serve our fellow man, to worship God, and to do all this in the spirit of unity.
