In his commentary, Dr. James Burton Coffman wrote, "The first poem ever written glorified the crime of murder (Genesis 4:23); ..."

That's his comment on Eph. 1.2.

I dare say he's right.

Are we poets forever living down this dastardly first use of verse?

Every writer is an evangelist, not in the Christian sense, however much that might be desired. He who writes has something to say so compelling that he must bring everyone to hear it and, by chance, to believe it. Either a writer is an evangelist or a mere dabbler.

Do you wait until the last minute to get things done? Can you only work with a deadline staring you in the face? Is your work better or worse for the dark cloud of the dealine?

Probably, it's a gauge of self-discipline. I imagine the weak of will need the outer imposition of the deadline to get motivated.
